T. S. Bankson is a painter, exploring techniques in ink, watercolor, oil, linocut carving, and monotype printing. She also creates digital art (though is philosophically tormented by it).
Through art, she explores the relationship between the intangible (and some might say divine) realities, and the ordinary, mundane parts of life. The world bursts with song, tears, silence, life, and stories. Beauty hides in the most ordinary of objects and people. Like the holiness hidden within a relic, she hopes to paint the light found in simple people and stories.
She draws inspiration from nature, Eastern Orthodox theology and spirituality, and fairy tales. She is married to Sam, and teaches Latin and Literature at a classical school.
